Can Faith & Logic co-exist
Faith
Does faith happen by logic?
My attempt to answer - Can faith and logic co-exist ?
Logic is the system of reasoning. If a system of reasoning has
faith in nothing, it cannot truly be reasonable because faith
invades every facet of mankind's existence.
Reading Gita might not bring you to your knees. Then
Scientific studies can. The more you study how the universe
operates, how the world was put together, you will logically
conclude that the creation of the universe was not an
accident.
Take, for example, molecules. Many grade-school children are
able to tell me that a water molecule consists of H2O. Most of
these children have not actually seen a molecule broken apart.
So, having never seen it, can they truly say it exists and
confidently assert what it is made of? I personally cannot. I
am forced to admit that I have put my faith in the textbook,
and I believe what it tells me about the composition of a
water molecule. That, is faith in its simplest form. The
evidence of things not seen.
The human is a spiritual being. We have a void within
ourselves that must be filled with a belief in something.
Everyone has faith. Even a person who believes he has no faith
does have faith that there is no faith. Faith is a belief in
the unknown. Faith is a belief in tomorrow. Faith is a belief
in your next breath.
Above I mentioned molecules, and their composition of
atoms. What holds these atoms together has yet to be explained
without controversy. It is still unknown how the building
block of life - the atom - holds together with other atoms to
form the molecule. Yet it does.
Jyana Yoga
An important Yoga of the four fold path to salvation. Jyana
Yoga (Yoga of wisdom) also tells to question every thing and
search for a logical answer. Question the very exisitance of
faith and find a logical answer to whether faith exist, if you
find a logical answer your soul is liberated regardless of
what answer you got.
GOD Scientifically
1. That the universe has a beauty that is more than skin
deep. For example, the one-celled organism or the choreography
of the cosmos. 'This whole thing was created by a Supreme
Being,'
2. That if a person can believe in black holes and multiple
universes, then it would be no big deal to believe in God.
3.
That in science there is one truth and one set of laws. This
shows the uncompromising truth that there is one truth, one
standard of right and wrong.
To
say one believes in nothing is to say that person believes in
believing in nothing, and therefore believes in something.
Faith is not only logical, it is essential to our way of life.
God not only exists, but his creation also affirms it.
And to Conclude a Line by Swami Vivekananda :
FAITH IS BELIEVING
WHAT IS NON APPARENT
