Pray for Knowledge

We Understand the Lord only when He Himself inspires us to understand Him. To whom Lord Himself gives knowledge, knows everything.

You really have to be a blessed one to understand lord ? Well I think blessings can come anytime in life. There are actually a few things that we can really do to get those special blessings which give us the power to understand.

Pray. Simple as it may sound Praying is not all that easy. A prayer must qualify the following prerequisites

  • Faith in legitimacy of desire

What ever we ask in our prayer must be towards ultimate goal of life. Self Realization.

  •  Faith in existence in Supreme Power of Lord.

Simpling believe that their exist a Higher authority which is the source of all Power in this universe & from where we will gain this power of understanding.

  •  Shraddha ( Faith, Sentiments, Patience or even Penance )

Swam Vivekananda says “What makes difference between Man & Man is the difference in his Shraddha and nothing else. What makes one man great and other weak & low is this Shraddha”

Vedanta also put forwards a theory about understanding Lord. According to Vedas all incidences of life happen either due to Pralabhda (fate / destiny) or Purushartha (Human efforts). Now when it comes to your spiritual progress whatever you will gain spiritually in your life will only be due to your Purushartha however Pralabhda will assist and create likely situations. Some people have a strong fate due to good deeds of previous life that minimal efforts get them to higher levels of realization.

The story we know about Prince Siddhartha becoming Gautam Buddha is just of one life. It is believed that Buddha Meditated continuously from birth to death for 300 births. In his last birth ( one that made him Buddha ) as a prince he didn’t understood life and many more things, but eventually went on to become THE WISE ONE.

Who knows you are a Buddha currently living your princely life ignorantly, someday you will get all the understanding. So keep praying and show some Purushartha.

A nice shloka to begin with…or who knows also complete with…
Asato ma sad gamaya Tamaso ma jyotir gamaya Mrtyor ma amrtam gamaya.
